Intralipid®
Intralipid® is a fat emulsion delivered to the woman’s body intravenously. Containing soybean oil, egg yolk phospholipids, glycerine, and water, it is a concentrated source of calories that helps downregulate natural killer (NK) cells that threaten to hinder embryo attachment and may be used in cases where a couple have experienced miscarriage or implantation failure. Intralipid® is typically administered in two or more rounds: one seven to 10 days prior to egg retrieval and another on the day of transfer.
